Tribe Boys, Girls 2025 Harrison County XC Champs

The Bridgeport High School boys and girls teams captured the Harrison County cross country championships Tuesday at Shinnston City Park.
 
The boys won with 28 points. The Indians were followed by host school Lincoln with 32 points and Heritage Christian a distant third with 90 points.
 
For the girls, the team finished with 22 points to Lincoln’s 44. Heritage was third with 63 points.
 
“Lincoln High School has good teams and gave us a real challenge,” said Coach Nathaniel Lutyens. “A couple of our boys – Parker Muncy and Graham Northey – really stepped up (Tuesday) to help us secure the win.”
 
Bridgeport produced four of the top six finishers. Muncy finished fourth overall (17 minutes, 22.92 seonds), while Northey finished sixth (17:55.03). Troy Zorick (16:39.39) took top honors, while William Northey was runner-up (17:01.8). Daniel Yearego (19:59.62) finished 16th and totaled 15 points for the final total.
 
Four of the top six finishers for the girls also wore Bridgeport’s colors. Aria Selario (19:22,16) was the race’s overall top finisher, while teammate Mikaela DeMoss (20:07.01) was third and Ashley McBrayer (21:05.45) was fourth. Isla Tobrey (21:19.61) finished in sixth place at the county meet.  Bethsayed Dankiewicz (22:31.14) finished in ninth to round out the scorers for the Indians.
 
“All of our athletes ran really well today on a challenging course,” Lutyens added.
