WVGA Honors 2025 Players of the Year, including Bridgeport's Audrey Kerr, Girls Junior Player of the Year

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 24, 2025

Charleston  — The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) recognized its 2025 Players of the Year during a special ceremony held November 21 at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston.

Throughout the 2025 season, Chris Slack, Lucas Ware and the WVGA staff hosted more than 150 tournaments across the state, showcasing the depth of talent and passion for golf in West Virginia.

WVGA President and Bridgeport resident, Tim McNeely, was on hand to present trophies to this year’s outstanding award recipients:
  • Men’s Player of the Year: Christian Brand
  • Women’s Player of the Year: Emily Holzopfel
  • Men’s Senior Player of the Year: Chris Daniels
  • Women’s Senior Player of the Year: Karen Kinnett
  • Boys Junior Player of the Year: Jack Michael
  • Girls Junior Player of the Year: Audrey Kerr (Bridgeport)
“We are incredibly proud of these golfers and the dedication they bring to the game,” said Tim McNeely. “Their commitment, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit exemplify what golf in West Virginia is all about.”

Bridgeport’s Audrey Kerr, who turned in an impressive season of consistent play and top finishes across junior events, was honored as the Girls Junior Player of the Year. Kerr expressed her gratitude after receiving the award, saying, "I’m so honored to be named the Girls Junior Player of the Year. This season pushed me to grow as a player, and I’m really grateful for all the support from my family, coaches, and the WVGA. It means a lot to end the year with this recognition.”

The WVGA extends its gratitude to Berry Hills Country Club for hosting the celebration and to the many sponsors, volunteers, players, and families who made the 2025 season such a success.
