As a freshman in 2023-24, Ugusuk saw action in 30 games, averaging 2.2 points in 10 minutes per game. He had five points and three assists in his first collegiate game against USC Upstate. Ugusuk had a season-high five assists and zero turnovers in the win over Charleston Southern. He had 11 points against Florida A&M and had 10 points in 11 minutes of action in the win against Missouri.

Ugusuk averaged 17.2 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game playing for Drive Basketball Academy in Finland. He played for Pantterit Helsinki in the Finnish 1st Division and averaged 12.0 points, 2.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. Ugusuk shot 58.8% from the floor and 60.0% from behind 3-point range.
