Once again, the residents of Harrison County will have the opportunity to celebrate the Fourth of July with a performance by the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. The Celebrate America Tour will find the Orchestra performing this evening, July 3 at the Clarksburg Amphitheater. The concert will start at 8 p.m. and is free.
We have been able to secure the Symphony for many years due to the sponsorship of the Barbara B. Highland Funds for the Arts. Many of
you will remember when they performed at the Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort. Hundreds of people gathered with a family picnic and listened to the beautiful music supplied by the Orchestra.

The evening will conclude with a beautiful fireworks display. Our family always gathered at Moonshine Mountain to celebrate the Fourth. We could hear the orchestra’s concert, and the fireworks exploded right in front of us. It was a wonderful way to observe the Fourth of July.
Local vendors will have food available for those in attendance to purchase. See you there,
The Clarksburg History Museum provides a wonderful service to us. Martha Jett does interviews with local residents about multiple subjects. If you log on to their site, you will be able to listen to the interviews. Jett interviewed me in February about my Italian heritage. It was a great interview, and I encourage you to take a minute and listen to it. If you have a suggestion for an interview that would be of interest to the locals, contact Jett at the museum.
My condolences to the Paul Lister family. Paul was a pillar in our community for many years.
Stay cool, stay safe, enjoy the Fourth and until next week “Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine.”
