Job Summary:
The City of Bridgeport is in search of a Director of Information Technology (IT). This position reports directly to the City Manager and works closely with all other departments throughout the city to provide secure and reliable telephone, email, internet, and network services. The position provides guidance to and assists all employees with procuring, maintaining and operating computers, tablets, phones, and other automated systems. The Director of IT procures and manages all software packages throughout the city. The Director of IT plans and prioritizes the work of the IT Team and develops procedures for coordinated and efficient workflow operations; this includes, but is not limited to, security of the network, systems management, email and server management, monitoring/alerting/logging, service management, incident and outage reporting, configuration, and end user management. This position will perform other duties and responsibilities as apparent or as delegated.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience preferably with a municipality; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Supervisory experience strongly preferred, preferably within a municipal environment.
