City Faces in Different Places

By Hannah Edwards on September 09, 2018 from City Faces via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Please take a moment to check out this week’s City Face, Michele Marshall.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  24 years

Where are you originally from?  Clarksburg, WV

Are you married?  I am married to Dave Marshall (Bridgeport High School math teacher and former Lady Indians basketball coach).  We have been happily married for 28 years.

Children? We have two children.  Our daughter Amanda Evans (married to Isaac Evans) is a math teacher at Bridgeport High School and a son John Marshall who is a musician/guitarist currently living in Virginia.

What is your favorite color?  My favorite color is Red.

Where do you work?  I work for Dominion Transmission at the White Oaks location as an accountant/analyst.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  My favorite spot in Bridgeport is just walking around my neighborhood with my dog.  I enjoy saying hello to all the neighbors that are out while I’m walking.  I truly believe WV, especially Bridgeport, is the best place in the world to live!

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Grafton Dam where I spent time as a kid.

Favorite place outside of WV?  PNC Park (Pittsburgh) & the middle of the ocean (we have discovered a love of cruises).

Favorite restaurant? My favorite restaurant is Muriale’s Restaurant in Fairmont!  Best sauce next to mine.

Best childhood memory? I am from a very large and wonderful Italian family.  I have many fantastic stories about family gatherings with many relatives usually around the table (including the Sunday spaghetti dinners and many yearly holiday gatherings).

Favorite musical group?  Elevation Worship and Relient K.

Pets? I currently have a 5-year-old Lab mix named Liberty Pi.  He was adopted on Math Pi day 3/14/15.

Hobbies? I love to read (my younger sister Amy Denson is a published author) and do “crafty” things like sew and crochet.

Interesting fact about you? My dog is trained as a therapy dog through Mountaineer Therapy Dogs (in Morgantown).   Liberty Pi goes into various places and visits with patients, students, and others.  He loves people and is very sweet.  We make our rounds at several local libraries where kids have the opportunity to come and read to the dogs.  Liberty Pi and I usually participate in the reading programs at Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Shinnston (Lowe), and Philippi Public Libraries and have made several visits to other events including a local school and college.
