Elleyse Gemondo of Bridgeport was the recipient of a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree in Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management at LIM College’s 79th Commencement exercises on May 24, 2018 at 8 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan.

Gemondo is a 2014 graduate of West Virginia University with an undergraduate degree in Fashion Merchandising & Design, and a 2010 graduate of Bridgeport High School. She is the daughter of Kim and Lori Gemondo.

LIM College’s online MPS in Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management is an all online 30- credit program. Guided by expert faculty who bring decades of experience in the business of fashion to their virtual classrooms, these highly-focused courses of study prepare students to be competitive in the $2 trillion global fashion industry.

“I decided on getting a master's degree through LIM College, because I always wanted to attend a fashion school. I believed it would help me better myself, learn more about the fashion industry, and make connections," said Gemondo on earning her degree. "I originally wanted to attend school in person rather than pursue the degree online, but I accepted the job at the Gabe's Headquarters in Morgantown, West Virginia. I worked a full-time job at Gabe's throughout my entire time at LIM College. Taking my classes online allowed me to continue working for Gabe's while pursuing my degree.”

The LIM online master’s degree programs bring LIM’s signature New York City-centric point of view to the distance learner, with access to industry leaders through webinars, media-rich classroom content, one-on-one attention from faculty as well as a personal success coach, and the option to experience LIM and the New York City fashion world firsthand via a week-long immersion program.

“This program was very excellent for me, because I decided to complete my master's degree in one year. It taught me how to prioritize and juggle my life with a full-time job, being a full-time student, and being in a relationship. My career plan is to stay at Gabe's and work my way up to becoming a Buyer for the company," said Gemondo.

Gemondo was thrilled with her involvement with LIM.

“The entire experience was amazing and something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. The commencement speaker worked at Macy's with my current boss at Gabe's. I used to work for Macy's as well as a Visual Merchandiser. Small World," she ended.
