BHS Announces Zachary Kimble and Lindsay Knight as the April Students of the Month

Bridgeport High School has announced that Zachary Kimble and Lindsay Knight are the April Students of the Month.
 
Zachary is the son of Jeff and Laura Kimble of Bridgeport. During his tenure at BHS he has been a member of the High School's French Club and is current President of the BHS Society Honoraire de Francais. He has participated on the Quiz Bowl and History Bowl teams.
 
 
Zachary was a member of the Football Team during all four years at BHS which enabled him to participate in the Shop for Tots program directed by BHS Journalism Instructor Mrs. Alice Rowe. He also has been a member of the Track and Field Team, throwing discus and shot-put.
 
Zachary is a member of Drug Free Clubs of America and participates as a member of the Harrison County Dream TEAM which is a drug-use prevention and awareness group. He also participated in the FBI Youth Academy.
 
In June of 2016, Zachary attended the 79th Mountaineer Boys' State at Jackson's Mill where he was elected to the Boys' State Senate by his peers. Later that month, he was elected as a delegate to the 2016 WV State Republican Convention representing Harrison County. Zachary served as Vice Chairman of the Harrison County Teenage Republican Club during his Junior year. He currently serves as chairman of the HCTRC. His duties this year included emceeing a "Meet the Candidate " forum, which included former WV Senate President and 2016 Republican nominee for Governor, Bill Cole.
Zachary has received Congressional l nominations to attend the United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, and the 
United States Air Force Academy. Zachary recently received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point where he plans to attend this Fall.
 
Lindsay Knight is the daughter of Brian and Christa Hunter. She is a member of the BHS Danceline and a three-year member of the Dance Ensemble. She is currently first in the senior class rank and is an AP Scholar with Honor after completing four AP classes her junior year.
 
She is a member of National Honors Society and has participated in numerous community service activities inside of the club. She is also a member of the Drug Free Club.
 
Knight plans to attend West Virginia University in the fall to study nursing. She is planning on attending medical school after completing her bachelor ' s degree to study oncology and hematology.
