The Bridgeport Middle School Dance Team participated in the Harrison County Middle School Danceline Showcase Saturday, Feb. 11 at Lincoln High School.

 

Lincoln Middle, Mountaineer Middle, Washington Irving and South Harrison Middle. Robert C. Byrd also performed at the showcase.

 

The showcase was a good opportunity for the teams to perform dances that have learned, worked on and performed throughout the season at football and basketball halftime shows. Danceline starts in August and runs through February. Teams showcased a variety of styles and genres, including pom, jazz and contemporary.

 

BMS Dance Team members are MacKenzie Gould, Hailey McDonald, Samantha Olivio and Ally Spellman (eighth graders); Emily Byrnside, Sophia Cava, Maggie Holstein, Taylor McDonald, Laura Pallay, Sophia Pinti, Olivia Spatafore and Sydney Snyder (seventh graders); Mallory Bell, Alexis Elliot, Josie Love, Sarah Meagher and Alexandria Stoneking (sixth graders). The team is coached by Liz Holtz and Jennifer Dodrill.

 

Coaches said there was much Bridgeport support and overall enthusiasm and that it was fun watching the girls perform for a big audience. They said they could not be more proud of their team and the performances they delivered.

Serving as emcee at the event was Tom Mellott of Bridgeport.
