City Resident, Youthful Business Owner Richard Lee Cottrill Passes Away at 25 as Result of ATV Accident

Richard Lee Cottrill, 25 of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, as a result of a ATV accident. 
 
He was born in Fairmont on July 30, 1991 a son of Mark and Laura Carter Cottrill of Bridgeport. 
 
Richard was owner and operator of Cottrill's Logging. He loved having his own business and he worked hard at it. His favorite times were those spent with his family and friends. Richard was kind, giving, a genuinely nice person who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
 
In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by his brother, Mark Dayton Cottrill and his wife Emma of Taylor County; his aunts and uncles, Greg and Vickie Cottrill of Shinnston, Angela and Tim Hartley of Morgantown, Debbie and Mike Layman of Fairmont, Linda Suplita and her fiancée, Dell Hess of Fairmont, Bonnie and Gary Wamsley of Fairmont and Dave and Diana Carter of Fairmont.
 
Also surviving are several cousins, including a special cousin, Colton Carter and many good friends. 
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Susie Cottrill and Carl and Retha Carter. 
 
Friends and family may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
