For Colleen Driscoll, the new year brought with it the birth of a new book, Finding Euphoria, her first adult novel.  Known for her award-winning children’s books, Driscoll wanted to challenge herself to transition into the romance suspense genre and has pulled from her own experiences to enhance the plot.  To differentiate between her books for children and adults, Driscoll used her pen name, C. Becker, for her newest book.

Finding Euphoriawill be released on March 13, published by The Wild Rose Press in New York.  The novel will be available on Amazon, Books-a-Million, B&N, Nook, iTunes, Overdrive and Google Books.  A book launch is scheduled for April 7 from 2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. at the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church, where Driscoll will have a book signing and purchasing options on site.

As a former Medical Technologist, Driscoll is well versed in testing blood and body fluids.  She pulled from that experience when developing the plot of Finding Euphoria.  Integrating the current drug epidemic with topics such as adoption, diabetes, and Parkinson’s Disease, she developed a medical suspense story that has been years in the making.

After two years of writing and two years of editing, Driscoll sent a few chapters to The Wild Rose Press after the company expanded their genre to include a thriller line. By September of 2016, they had requested the full novel and offered her a contract in March of 2017.  Her last edits were submitted at the very beginning of 2019 and the release date was approved last month.

Finding Euphoria is the first book of the Euphoria Trilogy.  The name has a double meaning, with “euphoria” representing both the deadly drug featured in the book and the quest for happiness of the protagonist.

After surviving early life traumas of kidnapping, putting her baby up for adoption and coping with her parents’ deaths, the lead character creates a new life for herself without revealing those parts of her past.  After nearly two decades, her secrets threaten her current life as she is charged with finding a mysterious drug that has landed her first-born son in a coma.

Driscoll is currently working on the second book in the series, Losing Euphoria:Trust No One. Seeing the launch of Finding Euphoria after years of meetings, edits and energy has given new life to her as an author and is fueling her imagination for the next two novels.  Known for her Piper the Elf series, among other successful children’s books, Driscoll’s new adventure offers readers suspense, drama, and a look into a very complex character’s life.
