The ACT 2 Theatre Company Holding Auditions for The Last Five Years

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 23, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The ACT 2 Theatre Company will hold auditions on Dec., 9 at 2 p.m. for the musical The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown.

Tyler Kovar of Morgantown, and graduate of Fairmont State University, will direct the show which will run from March 1 through 11, 2018 in Clarksburg. Musical Director is Joshua Allen Stubbs, vocal assistant at Robert Morris College and popular musical director for many educational and artistic organizations from Pittsburgh to Buckhannon.

Casting includes roles for one man and one woman between the ages of 22 and 35. Both must be strong singers. Vocal ranges, as well as other details, are posted at act2theatre.org. Auditionees are asked to register prior to Dec., 9 so that the director will have time to provide them with the music to prepare. A form is provided on the website for this purpose, but email to act2theatre@gmail.com is also acceptable.

If anyone who wants to audition cannot attend the Dec., 9 time, they may send an audition video or contact the director to arrange a separate audition time.

Rehearsals will begin during the first week of January. Since the director expects actor-singers from a broad area in north-central West Virginia, he plans to hold rehearsals at locations convenient to those cast.

The ACT 2 Theater company is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization based at the McCrory Marketplace Great Hall, 318 West Main Street, Clarksburg, WV. The production will be performed by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
