Time Travel: Furbee's Drug Store 1952 Christmas Party and Bridgeport Hill Pre-Development from 1941

By Dick Duez on October 29, 2017 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo, taken by and provided by Tom Kinney is from 1952 and taken inside of one of the city's early hot spots - Furbee’s Drug Store. The store was located on the left side of the Peshak & Utt building on Main Street. This photo is from December of that year and taken at a Christmas party. Does anybody recognize any of the faces? If so, add a comment in the comment section below.
This stretch of barren road doesn't look like this today. This is actually what is known today as old Bridgeport Hill and the land to the right is where Harry Green Chevrolet is situated. At one time, this road took you directly from Clarksburg and into Bridgeport.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
