Time Travel: Hills Department Store's Jammed 1980s Parking Lot and the Four Corners Restaurant

By Dick Duez on May 14, 2017 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Here's another photo of one of Bridgeport's and the region's most famous shopping destinations from the past. The former Hills Department Store is shown in this 1987 photo. Can ayone identify any of the businesses that are located beyond the building?
Few places had as unique and positive of a reputation as the Four Corners restaurant in Grafton. For years, it was a destination point for many locals and travelers, particularly on U.S. Route 50 before its end recently came.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
