Time Travel: Indians' 2001 Football Seniors and Current Trouble Spot on Route 250 Decades Earlier
By Dick Duez on April 16, 2017 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

These seniors, all 14 of them, managed to help get Bridgeport back to the Class AA state title game in 2001, but Bruce Carey's squad fell in the state championship contest. Pictured are, front row from left, Jeff Hartzell, Chris Byrd, Tyler Dodd, Chris Lindsey, Jason Closson, Brandon Wienke and Bobby Oliverio. Back row, from left, are Ryan Cook, Derek Dieringer, C.R. Rohrbough, Tim Lindsey, Ryan Rakestraw, Darren Floyd and Brian Kemmerer.

Look familiar? This is the section of U.S. Route 250 heading toward Fairmont pictured several decades earlier. This section of roadway has been closed several times in the past year due to slips on the hillside.
Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
