Time Travel: United Way in Bridgeport Doing Good Deeds in the 1960s and1938 Winter Fun in Osage

By Dick Duez on January 07, 2018 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The United Way has been doing great things in Harrison County for decades. This photo is proof of that. It is believed to be from the 1960s and features many prominent folks from Bridgeport. If you recognize anyone, please list them in the comment section below.
This is a winter scene from 1938. It shows, to the right, children sleigh riding on Scotts Run near the Osage area around Morgantown. This area is called New Hill and Norma Duez was born in Osage.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
