BHS Announces Fisher Rector and Hannah Allen as the March Students of the Month

Bridgeport High School has announced that Fisher Rector and Hannah Allen are the March Students of the Month.

Fisher is an Eagle Scout in Troop 40 in Bridgeport. He has been fortunate to take part in Scouting activities around the country and the world. He has attended the National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia in 2013, and the World Scout Jamboree in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan in 2015. In addition, he has participated in treks at all four Boy Scout high adventure bases, including the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, Florida Sea Base in the Florida Keys, Northern Tier High Adventure Program in the Canadian boundary waters, and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. While at the Philmont Scout Ranch, Fisher also completed the Scout's National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience training. Fisher has achieved several recognitions and awards in Scouting. He has been inducted into the Order of the Arrow, which is Scouting's national honor society. He has earned numerous awards since becoming a Boy Scout, including the kayaking, mile swim, snorkeling and world conservation awards. In addition, he has garnered the distinction of earning 142 merit badges, which include al l of the merit badges currently offered by the Boy Scouts.
Fisher is a Red Cross certified lifeguard. He worked this past summer at Oral Lake Fishing Club. Fisher is a member of All Saints Catholic Church i n Bridgeport. He has been an altar server for several years.
Fisher has not yet decided where he will attend college. He has received the nominations of Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito and Congressman David McKinley to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Hannah Allen is the daughter of Eric and Heather Allen of Bridgeport. She has been actively involved as a member of student council
for four years participating in various community service projects while serving on the executive board for the past three.

She is a member of the National Honor Society serving as the corresponding secretary. She earned an Academic Letter her freshmen year and Academic Lamp her sophomore, junior and senior years while maintaining a 3.9 GPA completing college and AP courses.
Hannah has been a varsity cheerleader for four years, earning Big 10 cheerleader as a freshman. She was a member of the 2013 Regional cheer championship team and state runner up teams in 2013 and 2014. Her senior year, she has served as co-captain.
Other school activities include participating as a member of Key Club, DECA, Drug Free Club, and Young Life. She was honored to serve as a senior representative to Homecoming court. Her most fulfilling high school experience was partnering as a Toys for Tots shopper.
Outside of school, Hannah has enjoyed traveling with People to People serving as an ambassador to seven countries in Europe as well as Australia. While on these trips, she served on multiple service projects.
She has danced at Rebecca 's Dance Studio for 16 years studying ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, tumbling and pointe.
Hannah has been accepted to the University of Oklahoma with plans to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
