The City of Bridgeport understands the importance of maintaining our streets. Our Engineering Department, Public Works Department and Administration evaluate the conditions of our roadways to monitor their condition. Yearly maintenance and prompt repairs help to keep costs down. If paving is neglected, roads will rapidly deteriorate and can cost up to three times more to fix. We have spent large amounts of funding and man hours to develop the local streets that service the homes and businesses of our citizens. The City of Bridgeport maintains over 268,000 feet of paved streets in our community.

Asphalt paving is set on a seven to ten-year cycle. This means each city-owned street is scheduled to be resurfaced every seven to ten years, which keeps our infrastructure from deteriorating and saves on maintenance costs. Concrete streets found throughout the City are ideal for longevity and keeps traffic speeds down. Concrete is the surface of choice for many residents. It is important to the City to maintain the concrete roadways for these reasons and the levy provides us with the means to do this every year.

Thank you for your continued investment in Bridgeport, and for helping us to make it a great place to live, work, visit, and do business. Please consider voting YES on February 16th, 2019.
