Small Town Prices, Fresh Ingredients Create Menu with Big-Time Flavor at Parsons' Iron Bridge Bistro

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 12, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

It's another week for WDTV's "Tasty Tuesday" report and for those living in Bridgeport or visiting, here's a profile on one that likely needs to be part of a trip as it's a little more than an hour away from Bridgeport. A visit to this still relatively new restaurant, however, should provide plenty of West Virginia scenery this time of the year.

The Iron Bridge Bistro in Parsons has a wide variety of menu items. One thing you won't find in their kitchen? A microwave.

"Everything's fresh. We don't have a steam table, heat lamp, or microwave oven. Everything is from the pan to the plate," said Chef Todd Zais.

After putting his passion for cooking on hold for over a decade, Chef Zais finally opened the bistro in April.

"I decided to follow my dream and open the restaurant."

"The food is phenomenal, the service is great, it's a great atmosphere; it's just a good place to be," said customer James Snyder.

Another customer, Christine Rosenau, added, "It's convenient, it's got good food, and it's family oriented."

During his career, Chef Zais has worked in kitchens across the country.

"The menu is a little bit of everything that I've picked up over the years from place to place."

Stand outs on the menu include the crab cakes, steaks, shrimp scampi, and a unique dish, the deep fried Philly cheese steak.
