Snapshot: The Front of the Robinson Grand in the 1940s with Former Clarksburg Worker Jeanne Marsh

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 06, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Thanks to our friends at the City of Clarksburg and Marketing and Community Relations Specialist Dominique Medina Spatafore, Connect-Bridgeport will occasionally run photos from the City of Clarksburg's Web site for the restoration of the old Robinson Grand that will soon open as the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. The Web site is "therobinsongrand.com" and is hyperlinked below.

Here is a description of the photo from the City of Clarksburg.

"The most recent snapshot comes from the mid-to-late 1940s. It shows a very rare view of the front of the Robinson Grand during that time. The young woman in the photo is Clarksburg's own Jeanne Marsh. Jeanne worked at the Robinson Grand under Madge Douds from 1943-to-1950. Jeanne has graciously shared many stories and memories during her time at the theater. In addition, she is also sharing some photographs and documents to help gain insight into that era. We thank Jeanne and her impeccable memory and look forward to sharing many more photos and stories.

"Do you have a photo, artifact, or story about the Robinson Grand or Rose Garden? We would love to see and hear it! Please share your information through the link below, and we will be sure to contact you."
