UHC's School of Radiologic Technology Recently Held its Graduation with Diplomas Going to 13 Students

United Hospital Center School of Radiologic recently conducted Commencement Exercises for the 2019 graduates. Diplomas were presented to thirteen students from Program Director, Rosemary Trupo and Clinical Instructors, Jane Bray, B.S., R.T. and Lisa Knight, R.T. on Saturday, May 11 at the Bridgeport High School Auditorium.   
 
Jeff Parsons, R.T. (R)(MR), MRI Technologist at United Hospital Center, served as guest speaker for the Radiologic Technology commencement, while the class address was delivered by Emilee Gibson.  Special presentations included Radiography Clinical Excellence Award presented to graduate, Brittany Kimball; the Radiography Academic Excellence Award presented to graduate Melinda Nicholson, and the Laurie D’Anselmi Technologist of the Year award to Jessica Veltri, R.T. (R), surgical technologist at United Hospital Center.
 
Rising senior radiologic technology students were recognized during the commencement and the recipients of two scholarships were also announced.  Savannah Thorn of Grafton received the Marsha K. Snively Memorial Scholarship from Ed Snively.  Abigail Rickman of Buckhannon received the Robert M. Timmons Memorial Scholarship from the 2018 recipient, Brittany Kimball.  The WV Society of Radiologic Technologists Excellence Scholarship was also presented to Rickman by Lisa Knight, WVSRT Membership Secretary-Treasurer.
 
Graduates of the School of Radiologic Technology include Leah Arbogast, daughter of Rosalin and Kenny Zirkle of Mabie; Braley D’Ann Bozic, daughter of Kenton and Kim Bozic of Weston; Logan Crum, son of Scott and Angela Crum of Arnold, MD; Maya Ervin, daughter of Marie Davis of Fairmont and Hakkiem Ervin Sr. of New Jersey; Emilee Gibson of Lost Creek, wife of Brycen Gibson and daughter of Mary Beth and Randy Beckwith of Dailey, WV; Taylor Hartness, daughter of Kimberly and James Hartness of Salem; Bailee Johnson, daughter of Aleta Stout of Clarksburg and Brad Johnson of Falling Waters, WV; Brittany Kimball of Jakes Run West Virginia,daughter of Melissa Kimball; Cara Kirk, daughter of Trina Alt of Philippi,WV and Richard Kirk of Winchester, Virginia; Kaylea McCutcheon, daughter of Mark and Khristi McCutcheon of Elkins; Melinda Nicholson, wife of Matthew Nicholson and daughter of Diana and Robert Dodd of Shinnston; Chauntelle Radabaugh, daughter of Carol Bauserman of Uniontown, PA.; and Kylie Brooke Womeldorff, daughter of Alan and Cari Womeldorff of Clarksburg.
 
Gibson, Kirk and Womeldorff will be entering the UHC Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, while Crum, Ervin, Kimball, Nicholson and Radabaugh will attend advanced imaging programs at WVU Hospitals in Morgantown. Several of the graduates have accepted employment as staff radiographers by United Hospital Center, Fairmont Regional Medical Center, Davis Health System and WVU Hospitals in Morgantown.
