Photos: Indian Football Finishes Regular Season 9-1

Bridgeport solidified its Class AA playoff positioning by getting a 56-21 victory against Harrison County and Big 10 opponent Lincoln Friday night at Wayne Jamison Field.

Jake Bowen and John Merica led the way. Bowen was responsible for four touchdowns and Merica added three in the lopsided affair.

The win closes the Indians' regular season at 9-1. The setback drops the Cougars to 6-4 and puts a serious wrench in their hopes to make it into the Class AA playoff field of 16.

Thanks to the win, Bridgeport will be no lower than the fourth-ranked team heading into the playoffs. Based on how other teams fare this evening, the Tribe could end up jumping Fairmont Senior for the No. 3 spot in the standings.

Being at the third or fourth sport guarantees the same thing. It means Bridgeport's first round playoff game will be at home and, if the Tribe wins that game, the second game would be at Jamison Field as well.

The breakdown will become more clear as the night continues. On Sunday, the WVSSAC will officially announce the pairings. The team that will visit Jamison Field will make the decision to play either Friday at 7:30 p.m or on Saturday at either 1:30  p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
