The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Lane Closure on I-79 Southbound (Fast Lane) at Mile Post 142.37 beginning on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at 7 p.m. through Monday, October 22, 2018 at 6 a.m. (24 hr/day).

 

The purpose for the Lane Closure is rehabilitation work on the Whiteday Creek Bridge at the Marion County/Monongalia County Line.  Friday night through Monday morning, (24 hr/day closure) I-79 both Southbound will be reduced to one lane while crews perform the work.  One lane will remain open at all times. 

 

Motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect delays and encouraged to find alternate routes if possible as well as allow additional time for their commute.  Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
