By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 02, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

For those visiting Bridgeport who have already sampled the city's fare or those who are residents of the city and beyond looking for a trip for a new culinary experience, here's the latest edition of WBOY's Restaurant Road Trip. And this one, which is just three months old, is 40 minutes and about 35 miles north off of Interstate 79 in Morgantown.

FROM WBOY

John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads" has become the soundtrack of West Virginia. On this week's Restaurant Road Trip, we headed north to a place that has customers feeling like they belong.

Mountain Mama's Co-Owner Clay Conrad said, "Every time we get a win, everyone plays country roads. It just people a great atmosphere and vibe and really enjoy the place because of the name or come to it because of the name."

Mountain Mama's opened its doors about three months ago in Morgantown.

"Everything is made fresh and just be better than the last place."

Owners Clay Conrad and Jacob Samples said it is important to stay true to their West Virginia roots.

"We try to keep everything more West Virginia orientated. Doing limited items like wild turkey, deer burgers, deer chili and thing like ramp wing sauce we want to work on," Clay said.

The menu was inspired by John Denver's "Take me Home, Country Roads." The restaurant could seem like "almost heaven" for craft beer lovers, currently serving 19 West Virginia craft beers on tap.
