Apple Butter Festival Back after 2-Year COVID Hiatus

Following a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, another area festival is back. According to the official Salem Apple Butter Festival Web site, the festival begins today and runs through Sunday - Oct. 6 through Oct. 9. 
 
The festival in Salem will, as the name suggests, will feature apple butter and demonstrations on making apple butter. The main event, on the entertainment side, will be Bucky Covington, an American Ido finalist from Season 5 of the highly popular show. Covington will perform  Saturday at 9 p.m. Covington has had several songs in the Billboard Top 100.
 
Following Covington's performance, there will be a fireworks show. Other events include:

  • Celebrity Auction
  • Greased Pig Contest
  • Coronation Ceremony
  • Quilt Show
  • Apple Pie Contest
