DHHR Reports 354 New COVID Cases; Harrison County's Active Cases at 44; State Deaths at 7,822

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Friday, Jan. 27) the total number of  COVID-19 cases has increased to 633,636 with an increase of 354 new cases since the last update.
 
Friday's report shows the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is 8.62 percent. The daily percent positive rate is at 9.58
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 25,750 (17,026 confirmed and 8,724 probable). Harrison County's active cases are at 44. There have been 25,418 recoveries and 288 deaths.
 
Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the staate border to be tested. 
 
The state's cumulative number of COVID-releated deaths is at 7,822. There have been no deaths since the last report.
 
The state's number of active cases is at 934 and there have been 624,880 recoveries.
 
Hospitalizations as of Jan. 26 are at 243 with 39 patients in ICUs and 16 on ventilators.
