Dirt Bike Accident Results in HealthNet Medical Flight

A late morning Memorial Day accident involving a dirt bike resulted in the rider needing to be taken for medical transport by way of HealthNet.
The Granville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call at 11:37 a.m. on Monday. The call was in an area off Fort Martin Road in Monongalia County near Maidsville.
The situation was made more complex due to the patient's location. The patients was in a wooded area, approximately one and a half miles into the wooded area.
After getting to the patient and begin care, the Granville VFD staff that arrived turned over patient care to the Monongalia County EMS and Rescue squad. The patient was safely removed from the wooded area.
Once secured out of the woods, the patient was taken for treatment via HealthNet. There was no word on the condition of the individual and the scene was cleared shortly after 1 p.m.
