Stonewood Police, U.S. Marshals Service Arrest Local Man, a Fugitive, Wanted on Federal Drug Charge

On Monday, March 25, the Stonewood Police Department assisted the United States Marshals Service, West Virginia Northern District with the apprehension of a wanted federal fugitive living at a residence on Maple Avenue in Stonewood.
 
According to Stonewood Police Chief Robert Matheny II, Adam Lee Shaffer, 32, was the individual. He was taken into custody without incident.
 
Shaffer, wanted on a federal drug charge, was recently federally indicted in connection to federal drug crimes investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force of which several local agencies have members, including the Bridgeport Police Department. Following the recent warrant roundup, Shaffer was one of the last fugitives remaining at large, Matheny said.
