City Faces in Different Places

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Since September 2016, Alijon is living with Matt and Michelle Duez and family as an exchange student in the United Studies.
 
Where are you originally from? Dushanbe, Tajikistan
 
Family? He is the oldest son of Shokir and Malika.  He has a brother Nekruz, and two sisters Sarvinoz and Yasmina.  In Bridgeport, his brothers are Michael, Mark and Mitchell.
 
What is your favorite color? Red
 
Where do you work? Alijon is a sophomore at Bridgeport High School.  He was on the state championship cross country team and he is on the track and field team.
 
Favorite Bridgeport spot? Wayne Jamison Field because he enjoys watching the Indians play football and he likes running track.
 
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Parkersburg
 
Favorite restaurant? Shogun
 
Best childhood memory? Alijon remembers playing soccer with his family at a local park that has nice soccer fields. 
 
Favorite musical group? Russian singers Victor Tsoi and Egor Creed
 
Pets? In Tajikistan, Alijon’s cat’s name is Mishka.  In the United States, his cats are named Miles and Mo.
 
Hobbies? Running, football, soccer and swimming
 
Interesting fact about you? Alijon is only 16 years old.  He is from over 7,000 miles away.  He speaks Russian, Persian and English.
