BHS Alum Jeffrey Hood, Local Insurance Industry Giant, Passes Away at 64

Jeffrey Lynn Hood, Sr., 64, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the United Hospital Center following an extended illness. He was born in Clarksburg on May 8, 1950 a son of the late William Bell Hood, Sr. and Minnie Jacqueline Smith Hood.
 
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Suzan Jane Williams Hood who resides at their residence in Clarksburg. Also surviving are three sons, Jeffrey Lynn Hood, Jr., Robert William Hood and Nathan Todd Hood all of Clarksburg; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Miller and husband Jason of Medina, OH; three grandchildren, Kennedy, Ryan and Delaney Miller; one brother, William Bell Hood, II and wife Donna of Davis, WV; two sisters, Jennifer Koreski and husband Joe of Bridgeport and Melissa Kaigler of North Huntingdon, PA and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was a 1968 graduate of Bridgeport High School and graduated from Fairmont State College where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He played football at Bridgeport High School and Fairmont State College.
 
He was an insurance agent for United Security Agency and former co-owner of Hood Insurance Agency in Bridgeport. He formerly was active in the Clarksburg Little League, former time keeper for Bridgeport High School Football, member of the Duff Street United Methodist Church and the Late Lodge #63 AF & AM 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, Nemesis Shrine, Valley of Parkersburg.
 
Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort  on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Brian Seders presiding. Interment will follow at the Bridgeport Cemetery where Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Late Lodge #63 AF & AM.
