BHS Alumni Band Ready to Rock Homecoming Festivities; It's Not Too Late to Join In the Fun

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 30, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Michael Burge reminds Bridgeport High School Alumni Band members – those have marched in the past and those who would like to join musical forces – that musicians and frontline members will meet in the parking lot at the Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Chick-fil-A sandwiches and drinks will be available from that time through parade kick-off at 6 p.m. The band will be playing the BHS Fight Song and cowbells.

For Friday night’s Homecoming game against Elkins, those marching should gather at the BHS band room at 6:15 p.m.  The alumni band will march over to the football field with the high school band, as well as eighth graders of Bridgeport Middle School, who will be making their marching band debut. For the pre-game show, the united marching bands will play the Star Spangled Banner, BHS Alma Mater (Danny Boy) and BHS Fight Song. Throughout the game, the alumni band will be in the band bleachers, playing the Fight Song after Indian touchdowns, as well as other “stand tunes.”

The alumni band will wear red alumni T-shirts, black or dark pants and comfortable shoes. Potential alumni marching band participants needing music, an instrument or alumni T-shirt can contact Burge via Facebook or comment on this Connect-Bridgeport post.

“We’re looking to have a great turnout this year, so don’t miss out,” he said.
