A 1995 graduate of Bridgeport High School, Stephanie Mitchell Wiles and her family are in need of financial assistance following a very serious automobile accident which happened Monday evening in Dola. The Jeep in which two of her children were riding collided with another vehicle and subsequently struck a tree.

All five individuals occupying the vehicle were entrapped and had to be extricated. They were subsequently hospitalized. Among the occupants were Wiles' children William and Alex Carroll and their step-brother Avory. Alex has been released from medical care. William and Avory remain at Ruby Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit with broken bones and head injuries, among other injuries.

The family lives in Wallace and are members of Little Rock Camp Baptist Church and Youth Group. William is a student at Lincoln High School and the younger children attend Lumberport Elementary School. The school is collecting donations to assist the family financially, said Principal Vickie Luchuck.

Those who would like to help may send checks payable to Lumberport Elementary School with reference to the Carroll family or pre-paid gasoline or fast food cards and send to Lumberport Elementary School, 38 E Lyndon St, Lumberport, WV 26386. Get well cards and words of encouragement are also welcome.

"We've known this family for many years and they have incurred a lot of expenses traveling back and forth to the hospital," Luchuck said. "We'll make sure all the money goes to gasoline, food and other incidentals."

Another way to help is to make a donation at the "Go Fund Me" page which has been set up for the family. You can access it HERE
