This past weekend, it was reported that Bridgeport High School alums Sarah Logsdon and Isabella Malone were still in the running for this year's West Virginia University Competitive Cheer Squad. A supplemental three-day tryout held on campus was to determine which girls would attend a national cheer camp in Louisville, Ky. at the end of July.

 

Both Logsdon and Malone completed a favorable tryout and will be among the team's 15 members attending that camp. Both said they are ecstatic about it.

 

"I was nervous, but very excited," Malone said. "I didn't do so well during practice because I was so sore, but I'm glad that I did well enough to make it to Louisville."

 

At the onset of the 2015-2016 school year, there will be yet another evaluation of the team with potential cuts and additions. Malone said that the successful tryouts and attendance at camp would be major points in her and Logsdon's favor.
