The California University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team captured the NCAA Division II National Championship for the second time in program history on Friday night with an 86-69 victory against California Baptist at the Sanford Pentagon.

The team closes the year with a 32-4 overall record and joins the 2004 Vulcans as the only basketball national champions from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Meanwhile, California Baptist finishes the year with a 29-7 mark in its second year as a full member of NCAA Division II.

Bridgeport High School alum and former Lady Indians basketball player Miki Glenn, sophomore guard for the Vulcans, finished with a career-high 31 points after scoring 20 points in the second half. She made 10-of-17 attempts from the floor and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Glenn also added eight points, four assists and three steals, while playing all 40 minutes.
