National Book Tour for Wild and Free Hopes to Include City Among Stops; Survey Participation Encouraged

By Trina Runner on April 03, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

When word got out that Amanda Cunningham and Marrissa Ashburn were creating a community for women to connect and be inspired, it spread like - well, wildfire. The Wild Revival, a blog about community, was born of the idea that many women don’t allow themselves the time to foster genuine friendship or the chance to replenish physically, mentally and spiritually.  What started out as a blog has now expanded to include gatherings, small events where women can connect, express their passions, and enjoy feeling like part of a community. With nearly a thousand followers, contributors from across the country and hundreds viewing their blog weekly, The Wild Revival took their inspiring message one step further.  These ladies put their “hat in the ring” to be on the book launch team for Wild and Free, a book created by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan.

Out of thousands of applicants, The Wild Revival was chosen to be included on the book launch team and now the they are calling on local ladies to set the plan into action.  When Cunningham and Ashburn saw the common thread between their message and the one in the book, it was clear that it was divine intervention that matched the two “wilds” up.

The book is billed as an anthem for a generation of women who feel they are both too much and never enough--a common sentiment among many women.  Pulled in all directions, women often feel conflicted regarding passions and obligations, and very rarely have the chance to drown out the noise of everyday life to find clarity. Wild and Free spurs women to draw closer to God in these times, receiving joy and contentment in who He has made them to be, in whatever season they find themselves in.

While celebrating the diversity and beauty of all women, Wild and Free shows readers a way back from the endless cycle of trying to be perfect and getting disappointed.  Fears and limitations strangle the gifts that lie inside many women, never coming to fruition due to women feeling like they don't measure up.  The book shows how accepting oneself through the eyes of God can have transformative affects on all aspects of life, from family to work to fulfilling personal ambitions.

Themed around connection and community, it is only appropriate that Cunningham and Ashburn celebrate the launch of Wild and Free by hosting a gathering that offers praise, encouragement and fellowship. They hope to host a night lead by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan, featuring music from local artists. In order to make this happen, they need at least 100 commitments to attend the event. The gathering is open to all women at a minimal cost. They are seeking the help of readers in order to put North Central West Virginia on the list for the national book tour.

All readers are encouraged to take a brief survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KPVKTXH  The survey is to enable them to assess the interest in such an event and determine if  area will be a stop on the Wild and Free Tour.
