Still Getting Upper Hand on Cystic Fibrosis, 2003 BHS Grad John Starkey Lands Prestigious UNLV Honor

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 11, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Former Bridgeport resident and 2003 Bridgeport High School graduate John "J.J." Starkey  headed out west after earning his diploma to start a new adventure at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The move not only was to see what the world had to offer in a new setting, but the climate of Las Vegas was much better for the Cystic Fibrosis he had to deal with.

Apparently, the move has served him well. Along with completing his studies, he eventually began to work at the university where he learned. And he's done quite well at that as well.

Starkey has earned two degrees and serves as a senior academic advisor. Apparently, he's good at what he does.

Recently, Starkey was named one of the 2016 recipients of the UNLV Administrative Faculty Member of the Year Award. Read the story about Starkey on the UNLV Web site by clicking HERE.
