Grammy Award-winning troubadour Jason Mraz will perform at the WVU Creative Arts Center Saturday, April 29. Showtime for “An Evening with Jason Mraz and his Guitar” is set for 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale Friday (March 31) at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair and CAC box offices and online at Ticketmaster.com.

Mraz’s musical journey has taken him from Southern California’s coffee house scene to arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums all over the world. Widely known for his chart-topping hits “I’m Yours,” “I Won’t Give Up” and “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry),” he has earned diamond, multiplatinum or platinum certifications as well as a myriad of accolades including two Grammy Awards, two Teen Choice Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, American Society of Composers’ Song of the Year and Foundation Champion Awards.

“An Evening with Jason Mraz and his Guitar” is an intimate sneak peek before Mraz begins his summer tour with his Superband in June. His summer tour includes a headline performance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

A dedicated surfer, farmer/gardener, filmmaker and photographer, Mraz is first and foremost a committed global citizen whose impassioned social activism and philanthropic efforts span wide-ranging environmental advocacy and ardent support for LGBT equality.

Most recently, Mraz teamed up with participants from Live Art – an equally inclusive program supported by the Jason Mraz Foundation for both students with and without disabilities who use performing arts to share messages of acceptance, compassion and empathy – for a moving performance of his classic hit “I Won’t Give Up” at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria.

“The opening ceremony … was by far the most beautiful live concert experience I’ve ever been part of,” said Mraz. “I am so honored to have been considered worthy of the task.”

Tickets for Mraz’s concert at the WVU Creative Arts Center range from $44 to $69 depending on seat location.
