Fans of NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” might be catching a familiar face in recent episodes.

For the past few weeks, Bridgeport High School graduate Sarah Timms Chittaro has been serving as an extra on the sets of the popular TV shows.

Although she laughs and says she is far from being a TV actress, she may be well on her way. The married mother of three and Chicago resident says she is working with an agent and getting professional headshots taken so she can pursue a regular role.

Chittaro is a 1986 graduate of Bridgeport High School, where she was active in BHS theater, including the role of Reno Sweeney in her senior class play, “Anything Goes.” She grew up dancing at mother’s dance studio, Annabel Timms School of Ballet and went on to attend Point Park University in Pittsburgh. She is also an acting veteran of West Virginia Public Theatre, where she has appeared in several productions.

Chittaro is currently a member of the Actors’ Equity Association and her repertoire includes a London production of “Show Boat.”

In addition to her work with “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med” and “Chicago PD,” Chittaro has worked on the sets of other Chicago-based television series, including “Shameless” and “Empire.” Recently, she and her son Christopher filmed a commercial for Build-A-Bear, which will air in February.

Chittaro is pictured above in a scene from “Chicago Med” which aired Tuesday, Nov. 17. She is seen second from left in a role as a reporter.

“This is a lot of fun,” she said. “I’m having a great time.”

Chittaro is the daughter of Annabel and Joe Timms and the younger sister of Becky Timms and Cindy Timms Pulice.
