Inflate your pool rafts and arrive early to get your float space at Bridgeport City Pool.

Friday evening, Bridgeport Parks & Recreation will host this summer’s first movie night. Featuring “Incredibles 2,” the popular motion picture will be projected poolside on an inflatable 16-by-20-foot screen.

Price of admission is $3.50 for all ages – the regular pool rate for family night swim, said Michelle Leonard of Bridgeport Parks & Recreation. The pool opens at 7 p.m. with the featured film starting at dark, around 9 p.m. Families are invited to bring their favorite pool rafts and floats for the occasion. Leonard said movie-watchers must have a raft to stay in the water. The pool does have pool noodles which can be borrowed. The pool concession stand will be open with everything from pepperoni rolls and chips to candy and ice cream treats available for purchase.

Released in June of 2018, “Incredibles 2” is a production of Pixar Animation Studios. The storyline follows the Parr family and their collective calling as superheroes.

Featuring “Aquaman,” the second 2019 feature film will be shown Aug. 9 with the same rates and rules applying. “Aquaman” is a 2018 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film is distributed by Warner Bros.

The “Family Float Nights” or “Dive-In Movies” as they have become known, are always popular, said Parks and Recreation Director Joe Shuttleworth, adding that Bridgeport Parks and Recreation is happy to host them.

“We like these types of family-oriented programs that bring people out to enjoy themselves with their friends and neighbors,” he said. “They represent the small-town sense of community that we are all about.”

In the case of rainy weather, events will be canceled.
