According to this report from MetroNews, Country Music mega-star Garth Brooks is coming to Charleston for a concert in late October, promoters announced Wednesday.

It will be Brooks’ first concert at the Charleston Civic Center in 19 years. The return has been in the works for two years, Civic Center General Manager John Robertson said.

“We were sworn to secrecy. This is a big deal and it’s been a long time in the making,” Robertson said.

The concert is scheduled for Saturday night, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. Brooks’ wife, fellow star Trisha Yearwood, will perform with Brooks at various times during the show. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. Those tickets will go fast, Robertson predicted.
