JC Films Wraps up Filming of Two More Projects in Bridgeport and Surrounding Areas

Over recent weeks, JC Films shot two more quality movies to add to its repertoire.

“Nun Nancy,” Campbell said, is a wonderful story about a nun in Baltimore who served the inner city disguised as a bartender, so she could more effectively share God’s love.  It’s a heartfelt depiction about divine intervention and divine appointment; the Christian life lived through imperfect people.

“A lot of Christian films depicting life are very one-dimensional and very – well, unrealistic. I make a lot of these films myself,” he said. “However, recently I see more Christians ready for a different representation of their faith beyond what we as Christian film makers are creating.”

The film features Sharonne Lanier, Erin Nordseth, Krystian Leonard, Tim Goodwin, Becky Rosser, Michael Sigler, Kathy Sanders and Katherine Shaw, among many other actors.

Much of the filming took place at Main Street Station in Bridgeport, as well as Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Simpson Creek Baptist Church and downtown Shinnston.

Campbell gives a shoutout to Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker and his department, as well as Bridgeport Fire Department, for all their help with the film.

“The Bridge” is a powerful film about suicide prevention and fighting depression, addiction, abuse hopelessness and other demons that come into individuals’ lives.

“It’s an emotional religious experience that deals with human loss, grief and recovery,” Campbell said. “From a group of teens obsessed with witchcraft to adults with psychological meltdowns, the film will cover a multitude of aspects concerning suicide.”
It’s an uncomfortable subject, but with suicide now the second leading cause of death in the world for 15- to 24-year-olds, it’s time a conversation begins and spreads, shedding light and understanding on the demons that claim hundreds of thousands of lives annually.
Sigler, Lough, Rosser and Goodwin appear in “The Bridge,” as well as Austin Wedderburn, Tim Ross, Bobby Lacer, Levi Wolfe and many others.

Locals are encouraged to get involved with JC Films and its mission.

“It’s really neat how people have become involved over the last couple of years,” Campbell said. “Some who were extras early on are become pretty steady with our productions and playing supporting roles.”
