Organizers for the previously named Clarksburg Music Fest & Block Party have announced changes to the event. After hearing concerns from patrons about the previous arrangements, the organizers have made the decision to move the event to Ferguson Memorial Park in Shinnston, WV on August 26, 2023. The new venue brings a new name as the previous name was tied to the City of Clarksburg where it was going to be held. The new name is The Summer Rock Fest & Dysfunctional Family Picnic.

Due to the date change there will be a few lineup changes. Alt-rock act, Puddle of Mudd is still headlining the show. But, Saving Abel had to drop out, as well as local rockers Last Year’s Model,  due to previous engagements on the new date. In their place, Josey Scott’s Saliva and Jared James Nichols have been added to the lineup.

One of the event organizers, Tracy Smith Brady said they were very pleased with the new set up and hope that the new venue serves the customers better. The new venue allows for more comfort and facilities for children like play places, better parking and a beautiful event. Brady went on to say that the City Of Shinnston has been great to work with and that they are excited to host this as an annual event in the town. City Manager, Chad Edwards said “The city is very excited to host the event and he is excited to see the beautiful amphitheater at Ferguson Memorial Park being utilized. This will be one of three festivals held at the park this summer as well as the newly announced Shindy Music Festival and Rollin’ Brews Beer Fest.”

More details such as the full lineup and refunds, if necessary, are available on their facebook page.
