After being released on several digital platforms, Stephen Pishner’s “Sounds of Love” album is now available in CD format.

Recording artist and local musician Stephen Pishner said he always had a soft spot for tunes with a Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack feel, but never had a chance to sing much of them until now.

"There is about a 30-year span of musical styles in this collection of songs. It has a bit of a New York/Vegas feel to some of it,” said Pishner of the album recorded at Jamie Peck Productions in Wheeling.

Recording tunes such as “Beyond the Sea,” Fly Me to the Moon,” Smile,” “Unforgettable” and “My Way’ – among others has brought him a new appreciation for the artistic skills of songwriters who created the timeless musical gems. Though classics, Pishner said he still put his own touch on the musical arrangements of each song, which have since February been available for purchase on digital platforms including iTunes and Amazon Music.

The music is good for dancing, dinnertime, driving or just easy listening. According to feedback, it has come at a good time in the lives of many.
“I think people are cooped up and need their spirits lifted.  Music in itself is a divine gift just as creation, going outside, breathing and opening our eyes are gifts,” Pishner said. “I put out what I can as often as possible. People feel like they’re in prison. And these pieces of music are like visitors.

In that statement, Pishner is referring to a self-written tune – inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We Will Get Through this Storm” is a faith-based song recorded at All Saints Catholic Church where the musician serves as musical director. Released April 23 on Facebook, the song has drawn much interest and support.

The music video, created by All Saints’ Mara Vogel, has been viewed more than 7,100 times and overall has reached over 12,000 people.
“It’s specific to all the things we’re hearing on the news, the things people say and feel, the way I felt,” Pishner said. “People are closed in and closed off, just feeling hampered under the thumb of all its heaviness.”

After professionally recording the song at Jamie Peck Productions Studio, it will subsequently be released on iTunes, Amazon Music and other digital platforms worldwide.

Pishner has heard from people far and wide about his recorded music and live-streamed concerts he has done from All Saints Catholic Church.

“I’ve received hundreds and hundreds of comments and private messages, even from Australia – people who have been watching the live concerts,” he said. “People are uncertain worried, questioning, tired and impatient, so that’s why the online concerts have been really high in views.”

Pishner said the live concerts have drawn upwards of 6,000 people.

Some of the “Sounds of Love” singles were released in late-2019, some on more than 40 different digital platforms worldwide, including YouTube, Pandora and Spotify.

Pishner also has two other CDs: “Amici in America” (Italian Folk/Pop Music done with the band Amici) and “Songs of Grace for the Soul,” a collection of music for prayer.

The “Sounds of Love” CD can be purchased by contacting Pishner by email at italiawv@gmail.com or contacting Stefano Pishner on Facebook. He plans to host a CD release party at a later date.
