With a focus on exploring and learning the wonders of our natural environment, the Stonewall State Park Foundation will host its 2017 Nature Odyssey Camp for kids ages 8-14 years old at Stonewall Resort State Park June 26-28, representatives announced.
Samantha Norris, community outreach director for Stonewall Resort, said, “Attendance continues to rise each year as word has spread about the unique experiences offered at the Nature Odyssey Camp. This hands-on day camp, open to anyone in the community or staying at the resort, offers kids an exciting opportunity to explore nature firsthand and to embark on science- and fun-filled adventures. Get your registration in while space is still available."

Norris said programming will highlight a variety of nature themed-topics, such as the colors in nature, land reclamation and space exploration.  Campers are welcome to participate for one day or attend the full three-day camp which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn about park wildlife, hike throughout the State Park trail system and interact with career professionals in science and technology fields from the community.

Julie Foster and Barbara Tucker, two well-known Lewis County educators with an interest in environmental education, will lead the Nature Odyssey Camp.

The cost to participate is $35 a day with a $5 discount (per day) for those who complete early registration for the entire week. Registration will include all supplies needed for the educational and recreational activities as well as lunch. All registrations must complete a liability waiver, emergency contact form, and a medical overview of special needs.
