Beneath the Jacket with the Bridgeport FFA: Chicken Dinner Success

By Miyah Swiger on April 14, 2023 from Beneath the Jacket? via

On Monday March 27,2023, the Bridgeport FFA Chapter held their first annual Chicken Auction and Banquet. The chapter would like to thank the community for their support.
The chapter successfully sold 17 frozen birds through their live auction for a grand total of $1,961!  The community’s generosity will continue to support the opportunities and resources provided to agricultural students at Bridgeport High School!
At this event the Bridgeport FFA Advisor Mr. Arnold talked a lot about the positive impacts of having the community’s support within the chapter.  Having community supporters and alumni is important for FFA Chapters.  It helps the chapters prepare for various events and gives mentoring opportunities for the members!  Having support also helps share the importance of FFA throughout the community. There are many activities and events that the chapter can’t participate in without support from their community!
This event was a great way for the chapter to start introducing this organization to their community and they look forward to keeping the community involved!
