Benedum Festival on Hold for Now

Benedum Festival Chair John Belcastro said as of 4:30 p.m., tonight's Benedum Festival activities are on hold. The pet parade has already been cancelled and a decision will be made on other events within the next hour or so.

"If it clears up soon and dries out, we might be able to go on with the festival, but as of right now, we can't set up music or anything because the infield is so wet," Belcastro said.

Vendors and oil and gas participants were able to set up before the rains came. Everyone is on standby.

"It looks like tent city down here," said Belcastro about the festival site at Bridgeport City Park.

Saturday's festival activities are expected to go on as scheduled.

Stay tuned to Connect-Bridgeport for updated information regarding the festival.
