With the annual Benedum Festival just wrapping up, this photo of Michael Benedum from 1946 at the "Benedum Airport." Benedum is on the far left with his sister Sophie to his right. From Sophie, from left to right, is Benedum's pilot, an associate and Cecil Highland. Note the name of the airplane "The Wildcatter."

Although not certain of the event, this 1946 photo from a Clarksburg parade may involve a July 4 event or a political event based on the banners. Note the woman standing in the window of the former Empire Bank building that currently is home to MVB Bank.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection.
