Because of extremely wet conditions at Bridgeport City Park, organizers of the Benedum Festival announce they have no choice but to cancel tonight's festival activities.

Tomorrow's full slate of activities will take place as scheduled.

The laser show scheduled for tonight will take place Saturday night, along with the fireworks display, said Festival Chair John Belcastro. Tonight's pet parade was cancelled earlier this evening and it will not take place Saturday.

Among bands scheduled for tonight's stage was "2nd Street." The band will be worked into tomorrow's entertainment lineup. The Davisson Brothers Band was also scheduled for tonight. As of 6 p.m., it was uncertain as to whether that band will be able to return Saturday.
