Time Travel: Old Bridgeport City Hall and Visiting West Pike Street in Clarksburg during 1985 Flood

By Dick Duez on September 25, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The location may look familiar if the building does not. This is the location of the old Bridgeport City Hall when it was positioned on Main Street where the Fire Department is situated today. Anyone have an idea when this photo was taken or any memories of this former location? If so, comment in the section below.

This is a look at West Pike Street in Clarksburg during the1985 flood that destroyed large parts of West Virginia and hammered much of North Central West Virginia. If anyone has any memories about his flood, share them below in the comment section.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
