How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  Since June 2003, 15 years.

 

Where are you originally from?  New Britain, CT.

 

Are you married?  I've been married for 33-years to my supportive, loving, funny husband, Brian.

 

Children? I'm officially an empty nester. Michael is getting married to his beautiful fiancé, Brittany, on October 6 and Connor moved to Jacksonville, FL with his beautiful girlfriend, Shea. They are both happy, healthy, and independent, which makes the empty nest a little easier to handle.

 

What is your favorite color?  Blue, although you'd never know it by all the black I wear.

 

Where do you work?  I'm a registered yoga teacher and I teach private lessons and small classes. My niche seems to be fellow empty nesters and those who have tried yoga but didn't like it. My passion is to help them develop a strong and enjoyable practice that works for their body and lifestyle. I'm a firm believer that yoga offers balance to our crazy hectic lives.

 

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  I'd have to say "home sweet home." I'm a homebody at heart and love our tranquil neighborhood and entertaining friends.

 

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Stonewall Resort and Lewisburg, WV where we are surrounded by nature, outdoor activities, and blueberry picking!

 

Favorite place outside of WV?  It's a toss up between Cape Cod, MA and Glacier National Park, Montana. Both are sacred, protected lands that are both inspiring and tranquil.

 

Favorite restaurant? This is a tough one because I eat a plant based diet void of meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy 99% of the time, so eating out locally is a hard. I guess I'd say my kitchen where I whip nutritious meals in a flash!

 

Best childhood memory? Christmas Day with my four older brothers

 

Favorite musical group?  Dave Matthews Band

 

Pets? We are partial to English Bulldogs and currently have 7 1/2 year old Bully named Sagie Moore (named after the great Maya Moore, UCONN basketball player!)

 

Hobbies? I love to cook and share plant based meals with friends, family, and yoga practitioners. I like to hike, bike, kayak, and although it's my job, I practice yoga daily. 

 

Interesting fact about you? I've been a vegetarian since 1976 and for the last 2 years I have followed primarily a plant-based diet.
